This year your child will be doing some work with learning units. A learning unit contains a series of activities generated around a central theme and arranged so that students may work at their individual paces. The activities allow for learning through exploration and provide reinforcement of concepts. The teacher is able to give personalized instruction to any child who needs more direction or assistance. The child becomes successful at completing the tasks and gains a positive self-image. Learning units make learning a fun and exciting experience for the children.
A newsletter will be sent home at the beginning of each unit describing the main concepts the children will be learning and practicing and offering related activities you and your child can do to continue the learning experience.
